BMTC Bus Night Services Timings

Commuting late at night is a huge problem as the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation currently lock down operations at 10pm. Though BMTC operates skeletal services after that, thousands of people who work late at night or land in the city by bus or train are left at the mercy of autorickshaw and cab drivers who fleece them. People who reach Central Raiway station in the night also come across these problems. BMTC operates 97 buses after 10pm compared to the over 2,600 operating during the day. The two major public transport systems, the BMTC and the BMRC, are all set to extend their operations till 1am but with a rider - they need enough commuters.

Night Services from Majestic Bus Stand Stops somewhere around 11:30 and re-starts around 12:15. Presently, the BMTC has experimented night services along routes 335 (Majestic to Kadugodi), 500-D (Hebbal to Silk Board) and plans to include 276 (Majestic to Vidyaranyapura), 360-B (Majestic to Attibele) and 356 (Majestic to Chandapura). There is a high demand of increasing Night Services to ITPL, Richmond Circle, Electronic City, Indiranagar, CV Raman Nagar, Sarjapur Road, Marathahalli and Shanti Nagar.

BMTC Intelligent Transport System (ITS)

BMTC launched Intelligent Transport System on May 25 2016 to make travel convenient. Bangalore Municipal Transport Corporation (BMTC), after various attempts has finally launched facilities that assist it to check pilferage, provide commuters with real time information with regard to movement and timing of buses while enabling BMTC to make its operations efficient. Intelligent Transport System is a number of technology enhancements to BMTC's operations, aimed at making travel convenient and seamless for passengers. It included a centralized, real time monitoring system where buses fitted with GPS are monitored for their movements.

BMTC's upgraded mobile app was also launched on Wednesday, providing real time information with regard to movement of buses to passengers. Buses will also be fitted with an SOS button, near the driver's seat to efficiently inform the central office with regard to break downs or other problems with buses. A single card that commuters can use on both buses and the metro is also a new offing from BMTC.
