Karanji Anjaneya temple, Basavanagudi

Karanji Anjaneya temple in Basavanagudi is around 4.3 km from Bangalore city railway-station. The idol of the Lord, which faces North, is approximately of 18 ft and considered to be one of the tallest ones in Bangalore. The Lord has the 'choodamani' in his hands depicting one of the scenes from the epic, Ramayana. The temple today stands on the Karanji lake that existed then, and hence the name Karanji Anajaneyaswamy temple.

The temple is located adjacent to the BMS College for Women and is spread across a huge land, there is ample space for parking. As you enter the temple, a tall flagpost dedicated to Lord Garuda welcomes you. The temple also has carvings that depict various incidents from Ramayana. To the right of the main shrine of Lord Hanuman, is the temple dedicated to Lord Rama along with Goddess Seetha and his brother Lakshmana. Outside the temple, there is a huge peepul tree with a lot of statues dedicated to the serpent gods.

There are many buses from Majestic and KR Market to Basavanagudi, you may choose to get down at the Gandhi Bazaar Bus stand or Ganesh Bhavan and the temple is at a walkable distance from there. When you visit this temple, you may also choose to visit the Bull temple, Dodd Ganapathi temple and the Bugle rock.

Ragigudda Prasanna Anjaneya Temple, Jayanagar 9th Block

The Ragigudda Sri Prasanna Anjaneya temple is a temple dedicated to Hanuman located in Jayanagar 9th Block suburb of Bangalore. The temple also hosts a Shivalinga along with Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman shrine in the same precinct. The temple is situated on a hillock.There is a smaller temple dedicated to Ganesha, Navagrahas and Rajarajeshwari at the base of the hillock. The temple also plays host to the holy trinity of the Hindu's engraved on huge rocks at the side of the temple.

It is believed that the hillock which hosts the main deity Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy was formed from a heap of Ragi Millet and hence was termed "Ragigudda". During this period the holy trinity Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva expressed their will to remain near the hillock and turned themselves into stones near the hillock. These 3 stones now bear engravings of the trinity. The temple was formed in 1969 and registered in 1972.

Bagilu Anjaneya Temple, Yelahanka

Yelahanka Bagilu Anjaneya temple is a very popular Hanuman Temple in Bangalore and is located in the Yelahanka locality. Gali Anjaneya Temple, Mysore Road

Gali Anjaneya (Hanuman) Temple is one of the oldest and sacred temples of Bangalore located in Mysore Road Byatarayanapura, the suburb of Bangalore. Saint Sri Vyasaraya of Channapattana, a great philosopher and devotee to Lord Anjaneya has built around 732 temples for the Lord Anjaneya (Hanuman). It is believed that Sri Vyasaraya established this temple in the year 1425 at the convergence of two rivers - Vrishabhavathi and Paschimavahini.

It is believed that once the idol of the Lord Anjaneya open to Gali (Gali means Air in Kannada language), hence the name Gali Anjaneya. It is also believed that since Anjaneya (Hanuman) is son of Vayu, the wind God therefore Gali Anjaneya. Today this open temple had developed to be a big temple in the extremely congested area Byatarayanapura in Bangalore - Mysore Road. You can see the tall Rajagopura (entrance tower) at the entrance of the Gali Anjaneya temple and have darshan of Lord Ganesha and Venugopala Swamy. Once you pass the entrance you can see and offer prayers to Sri Rama Parivara and Sri Satya Narayana. The main attraction, Sri Gali Anjaneya Swami is seen facing the Sri Rama Parivara.

Prasanna Veeranjaneya Temple

Prasanna Veeranjaneya Temple in Mahalakshmipuram, Bangalore. Being one of the popular attractions of the city, Sri Prasanna Anjaneya temple hosts the gigantic idol of Lord Hanuman; 22 feet in height and 16 feet in width. Suvarnamukhi Anjaneya Temple Bannerghatta

Suvarnamukhi Hills is located inside Bannerghatta National Park and stretch out to a huge rock. The beautiful Suvarnamukhi stream meanders through these hills. At the foot of the hill, the famous Champaka Dhama Swamy temple, built in the Dravidian style of architecture, belonging to the Hoysala age is at the foot of this hillock. The temple enshrines an image of Lord Vishnu with his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi.

Suvarnamukhi Anjaneya Temple is situated just before the Bannerghatta National Park, on the outskirts of Bangalore. 1.5kms from Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple behind the mountain, inside the forest is the famous Suvarnamukhi Kalyani. The water in this Kalyani is believed to have curative powers. Locals will tell you that a dip here will cure you of several diseases.

This is the place where Emperor Janamejaya took bathe and prayed after which he was released from sarpa dosha or the curse of the snake. He also got a golden body after he had bathed in this pod. Hence, it is called Suvarnamukhi. He then consecrated the idol of Champakadhama Swamy (Sri Champakadhama Swamy Devalaya). The Pushkarini, Kalyani or pond is emptied once an year so that the rock at the bottom, which is engraved with the image of Anjaneya, maybe worshipped. After worship, water is once again let into the pond.

Naagarabhaavi is a residential area in West Bangalore located between Mysore road and Magadi Road. Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Temple is located in Nargarbhavi and is known for its giant Anjaneya's Idol in meditation.
