Kadu Malleshwara Temple

Kadu Malleshwara Temple is a temple dedicated to the Ltd Shiva located in the Malleshwaram in Bangalore. The temple was built in the 17th century A.D. by Venkoji, the brother of the Maratha King Shivaji in Dravidian style of architecture. Shiva is worshipped as Mallikarjun. The main annual festival is Shivaratri. The locality of Malleshwaram is named after this temple. One part of the temple, Nandishwara Teertha Temple (Basava Theertha), is in front of the temple. It is said to be the main source or birthplace of the Vrishabhavathi River.

H. V. Nanjundaiah is credited with the founding of Malleshwara,[2] and 6th main road is named after him.
