Pattadakallu Temples, Pattadakal was one of the shooting location of Telugu movie - Magadheera. Sankarabharanam was shot at Chennakesava Temple, Belur.

R.K. Narayan's Malgudi Days whose televised version was made by Shankar Nag was shot in Agumbe. Malgudi Days is the story of 10 year old Swami, his family and neighbours who can be found anywhere in the world. Including in the make-believe town of Malgudi or Agumbe where the series was shot.

Beautiful Villages in Karnataka shown in Bollywood Films


Ramgarh - Sholay
Sholay, possibly the most famous film ever made, was released on August 15, 1975. Ramgarh offers a perfect backdrop against the saga of love and revenge. The fictional village gets its shooting in Ramnagar, a beautiful place in Karnataka, just around 50 kms from the throbbing city of Bangalore. Nathuakhan is a ravishing hamlet near Ramgarh at an elevation of 6,365 ft above sea level. Tourists can enjoy nature walks, meditation or can relax in the beautiful gardens. The serenity and calmness of the surroundings of Nathuakhan is blessed with picturesque forests, lush green valleys and hilly terrains.
