Ashlesha Nakshatra
Aashlesha Nakshatra is the one among 22 Nakshatras in Hindu Mythology. Ashwini, Bharani, Kritika, Rohini, Mrigashira, Aardra, Punarvasu, Pushya, Ashlesha, Magha, Purva Phalguni, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Vishakha, Anuradha, Jyeshtha, Moola Nakshatra, Purva Ashada, Uttara Ashada, Shravana, Dhanishtha, Satbhisha, Poorva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada & Revati Are The 27 Nakshatras.
The planetary lord is Mercury or Budha. Its presiding deities are the Nagas. The nakshatra's symbol is a coiled serpent. It is a trikshna or sharp nakshatra. Its animal symbol is the male cat.
Like its symbol, the Naga or coiled serpent, people of this nakshatra are said to have confused emotions and inherent insecurities with the result that no matter how close you are to them, they will attack you to protect themselves. On the other hand, Ashlesha natives are said to have very good leadership skills, to be apt at managing even a large army, and to be diplomatic and cordial by nature.
This a gand mool nakshtra and is considered one of the most inauspicious moon signs to be born in. Mahatma Gandhi and Ayilyam Thirunal of Travancore had the moon in this nakshatra, while Jawahar Lal nehru had this rising on his ascendant.
A person born in 'Ashlesha Nakshatra' is a born wanderer i.e. travels unnecessarily, wicked, causes anguish to others, spends his wealth for evil purposes, and is a sensualist.
- If a person is born in the first part of this Nakshatra, he is impotent.
- If a person is born in the second part of the Aashlesha Nakshatra, he is a servant always serving others.
- If a person is born in the third part of the Aashlesha Nakshatra, he suffers from diseases.
- A person born in the fourth part of the Aashlesha Nakshatra, though fortunate, has a few years of his life cut short because of a 'GANDA' (inauspicious combination of the Nakshatras) at the end of this Nakshatra. Therefore, irrespective of the part of the Aashlesha Nakshatra in which a person is born, an effort should be made to pacify this Nakshatra by performing the required rites.
