The Satellite bus stand is about 6 km from Bangalore City railway and the Kempegowda Bus Station. You need to travel by the local city bus or private taxi/auto-rickshaw to travel from the city Kempegowda Bus Station/railway station, it can take around 1 hour thanks to the slow-moving city traffic. It is well connected to other city suburbs like Vijayanagar, Jayanagar, Bengaluru International Airport, Majestic, K.R Market, Shantinagar, Kengeri, Bidadi, Magadi Road, Nagarbhavi, and Peenya 2nd stage by bus.
The first bus from the KSRTC Satellite Bus Stand in Bangalore starts around 04:30 AM. The journey is approximately 3 hour long and you will reach Mysore Gandhi Square at around 07:00 AM. If the traffic increases it can take much longer than expected.
There are different types of services to Mysore. The highest class is the AC buses called "Airavat" services or popularly the "Volvo Servces". There are also a few Mercedes- Benz services by KSRTC from the same platform. The fare is Rs 260 one way. The Rajahamsa class services are non AC, but with pushback seats. Ticket costs about Rs 130. Ticket for the regular express service (called Karnataka Sarige) cost about Rs 90. The frequency of service is fairly good between 6am and 8pm.
